March 28, 2019 – Ottawa, Canada: TransUnion has certified that WiseWithData’s automated SPROCKET migration was able to accurately convert thousands of lines of production SAS code within 5 days. After a thorough month-long review, TransUnion has determined that all elements and data outputs of the process were accurately converted into PySpark. They also validated the code provided a line-by-line experience, allowing for easy side-by-side comparison, simplifying testing and knowledge transfer for existing SAS resources. They also validated that the converted code uses PySpark best practices around use of the DataFrame API (not the deprecated RDD API), PEP-8 compliance and that the performance and scalability of the code far exceeded that of the original SAS code.
Now that the technology has been fully vetted, TransUnion and WiseWithData are working on an agreement to leverage the SPROCKET solution to completely remove SAS by the end of 2020. Further details will follow once an agreement has been reached.
